To Load a Subset of the VCM

When you launch ConstructSim Planner, you have the option of downloading the entire VCM to your local system or only the components (a subset of the entire VCM) that you need. This is done through the Partial Loading Subsets dialog, which automatically displays after ConstructSim Planner opens.

In the Partial Loading Subsets dialog, if you turn off Show dialog at launch and select a Default: subset, the next time you open ConstructSim Planner, the dialog does not display and the default subset loads.

The dialog does not display when you open an existing overlay file directly, or when you select Get latest VCM from the ConstructSim Work Package Server, unless this is the first time you are launching ConstructSim Planner.

This dialog also opens by selecting ConstructSim > Partial Loading > Subsets.

To load the entire VCM, from the dialog, click Load Full Model.

Use the following procedure if you want to load a subset of the VCM.

In the Partial Loading Subsets dialog Choose Subset list box, either:

select My Subsets and click Add.

or
right-click My Subsets and from the pop-up menu, select Add.

The Create Subset dialog opens.
In the Name field, type a name for the subset.
In the Components section, check the component type(s) that you want to display on your system.
Click OK and the subset name displays in the Partial Loading Subsets dialog.
Select the subset you want to load and click Load Subset to load only the component type(s) in the subset you created. The dialog closes and the component types display in ConstructSim Planner VCM model. In the Components dialog, you can only see components in the subset you created.
